BC Niseko Tour

Earn your turns!! Go to one of the mountains in the Niseko range, with no chairlifts, You can enjoy the natural terrain after you climb up by yourself without chair lift.

This is a human powered tour, which means you will have to hike to get to the top of the mountain. Expect about 1 to 3 hours of hiking to get 1 run in. No rush, there will not be other people there to compete for lines with.

There are several kinds of the mountains around Niseko Area. Our guide will make a decision to take you to the good spots based on snow & weather conditions, your ability level, and experience.

BC tours require at least following skills.

ability level is Intermediate +.

It means that you feel comfortable on any red slopes, on steeper off piste runs, and between the narrow trees by parallel turning (skiers) or skid turning (Snowboarders) with safety.

Experience on off-piste is also needed.

BC Yotei Tour

The ultimate backcountry adventure on the iconic volcano mountain of Yotei. Mt Yotei has over 1500 meters of vertical, with super long 5 kilometers runs from the top. There are beautiful views, open bowls and glades, quarter pipes and tree runs. Expect about 6 hours of hiking to make it to the top, The terrain is big and steep giving you one of the best runs in Hokkaido within 3 to 5 hours hike. The peak is not guaranteed with this tour, as it depends on fitness, conditions, and available time for our tour. However, the best runs are found under the peak, as the conditions are highly variable at the peak.

NAC BC Yotei Tour guides will choose the best spots of the day in Yotei for you depending on the snow conditions, weather, and your ability level.

Yotei BC tour requires at least the following skills:

Intermediate+ ski or snowboard level, which means you are comfortable on red slopes, on steeper off piste runs, and between narrow trees by parallel turning (skiers) or skid turning (snowboarders) with safety. You will also need backcountry or ski touring experience, as it’s a big mountain and we need to hike up for a long time, and at least upper intermediate skills due to the terrain conditions and for running between the narrow trees.

Schedule

BC Niseko 8:45 / BC Youtei 8:00 - Tour start

Check the equipment for everyone, move to the foot of the mountain.

Our guide will decide the best points for you on that day depending on the conditions, your skill, and experience.

BC Niseko 9:30 / BC Youtei 9:00 – Hike up start

You'll be fitted with all the backcountry equipment required (Backpack, Prove, Shovel and Beacon). Guide will give you a basic explanation about how to use all the safety equipment.

The first run is always a level checking run. After the guide has check on your skills, and depending on weather conditions, the guide will decide the runs that suit your level.

BC Niseko 12:30 – 13:00 / BC Youtei 12:00 – 12:30 - Lunch time

Our jojo’s lunch will be provided you.

Let us know in advance if you have any allergies or you need a vegetarian menu.

BC Niseko 14:00 / BC Youtei 14:00  - Last run

Be careful until the end. We will run down to the bottom near the parking space.

Tour end time may change dependng on weather conditions and group ability level.

BC Niseko 15:00 / BC Youtei 15:00 – Tour finish

Drop off at your accommodation. Finish of tour !

What´s included

Transfer from your accommodation to the mountain that our guide picked for the day.
Guided tour in the Backcountry (mountain only accessed by foot, with no chairlifts).

What to bring

Equipment for hike in the snow:

●Snowshoes and poles or splitboard (snowboarders)

●Touring skis and climbing skins (strongly recommended for skiers, although you can use snowshoes, ski boots on snowshoes are not very confortable)

Avalanche safety gear (Backpack, beacon, prove, shovel)
Snacks

What can you rent from NAC

You can rent the safety equipment necessary (Backpack, beacon, prove, shovel)
Also we have Snowshoes and colapsable poles available. These can be used either by skiers and snowboarders, but we strongly recommend to skiers to rent touring skis.

LIFT ACCESS GUIDING TOUR

Access the best snow from inside the ski resort. Explore the backside of the Niseko mountain, hike to the peak, or go into an adventure through the gates, where the best powder is waiting!

Using the ski lifts of the ski resort, we headed into the wild. In this tour our guide will pick the best spots based on the aspect, wind direction, elevation, etc. to find the best snow, always coming back to the chairlifts so you can get as many runs in as your legs can hold!

Some little hikes may be necessary (15-20min to get to the peak), but we can always avoid them so you can save the strength for the skiing down.
